'THUNDERBALL' NEVER DIES AS YOU VOTE IT BEST BOND FILM

The classic Bond movie Thunderball has not been shaken or stirred by any of its successors, after thousands of you voted the flick the greatest 007 film of all time. The 1965 classic rocketed to victory leaving 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies in second place.

It seems that "Yesterday Never Dies" might have been a more apt title for the film, as nearly 40 years of advances in special effects technology, along with the electric on-screen combination of Pierce Brosnan and Michelle Yeoh, couldn't match up to an old-fashioned spy caper featuring a young Sean Connery.

In the film Sir Sean has to retrieve a couple of nuclear missiles that have been stolen by the evil Spectre organisation, and tussles with a robot masseuse and a school of hungry sharks along the way.

Not surprisingly, Pierce and Michelle put up one hell of a fight, and Thunderball only managed to snatch victory by a few hundred votes. And overall it seems you enjoy the more modern 007 movies just as much as the originals.

Goldeneye (1995) took third place while The World Is Not Enough (1999) came in at number six. Live And Let Die (1973), The Man With The Golden Gun (1974) and Goldfinger (1964) all made the top ten list as well, however.
