When Tinseltown hunk Ben Affleck threw out the symbolic first pitch at a Boston baseball match at the weekend, fans of the actor didn't necessarily have their eye on the ball.
What really got tongues wagging about Jennifer Lopez's famous fiancé was the fact that he was displaying what looked like a wedding band on his ring finger.
A representative for the 31-year-old actor, however, played down talk of a possible secret wedding. "I can tell you authoritatively he did not get married," spokesman Ken Sunshine told a New York newspaper. He went on to admit that he had no idea what the ring signifies, insisting: "(I) never noticed it."
The mystery ring is just the latest development to flare speculation about when and where the much-photographed couple will tie the knot. Although the latest reports predict the two will wed in Kauai the weekend of September 13 – with guests including Matt Damon, Bruce Willis, Colin Farrell and Joaquin Phoenix – the groom himself has been busy putting out false leads to reporters.
In recent months he's "confirmed" several wedding spots, from Hawaii to South America. The cheeky star also told one journalist: "(The wedding) is in Namibia on November 15. So you go ahead and fly on down and we'll see you there."
