The inimitable John Cleese will soon be making his return to the little screen in the hit comedy Will & Grace. The legendary comedian is to play Lestor Finster, the father of Minnie Driver's character Lorraine, in the forthcoming series.
It has also been revealed that romance will bloom between his character and his onscreen daughter's sworn enemy Karen. John is some 13 inches taller than Megan Mullally, who plays Karen, and the height difference is expected to make for some priceless comedic moments.
"The budding and perverse romance between Lestor and Karen is going to span the whole season," said producer Jeff Greenstein. "He's just a magnificent actor – and he knows funny. In terms of the comedic rhythms of Will And Grace, it seems like the kind of comedy that he will naturally fit with."
The Monty Python star is just the latest big name to appear on the show, which has already featured Madonna, Gene Wilder and Demi Moore. Other celebs who are schedule to appear in the next series include Mira Sorvino and Dylan McDermott.
