Gwyneth 'worried' about raising baby stateside

Gwyneth Paltrow's love of all things English – including rock star hubby Chris Martin – is well known. And it looks like the pregnant star would prefer to remain in the UK to raise her children, as she has voiced concerns about raising a baby stateside.

"I worry about bringing a child up in America," she said. "At the moment there's a weird, over-patriotic atmosphere over there, like, 'We're number one and the rest of the world doesn't matter'. And the guns in schools – it's not great."

Gwyneth, who lives in the fashionable London neighbourhood of Belgravia, also gives indications that the location of her future family home is up in the air. It looks like a big city on either continent would be an unlikely choice, however. "I would love to have one home base, somewhere in the country in the middle of a lot of land," she told February's Vanity Fair. "I'm not sure which country."

The actress' best pal Madonna, in the meantime, has made it clear where she'd like to see the Oscar winner settle down. "I have this fantasy that I'm going to end up living in the English countryside with her," said the pop star, "and we are going to ride our bikes to visit each other."
