Soap Awards 2013: Alan Halsall pays tribute to pregnant wife Lucy-Jo Hudson

Cornonation Street star Alan Hansall paid tribute to his pregnant wife Lucy-Jo Hudson and their 'special guest' on Saturday night as he collected his Best Actor award at the British Soap Awards."I firmly believe that you're only as good as the people around you," said Alan during his acceptance speech, "So thank you to everybody who works at Coronation Street and every cast member. I'd also like to thank my beautiful wife Lucy-Jo Hudson and also our special guest, our baby bump. Can't wait to meet you. "Lucy-Jo, who revealed exclusively to HELLO! Magazine that she and Alan are expecting a baby girl, proudly looked on from the crowd, wearing a white Grecian-style gown by UK designer Tiffany Rose.

"Thank you all for your beautiful messages!" tweeted Lucy. "You're so lovely. Al and I had such an amazing night! Unbelievably proud of my man #bestactor xxx. "Alan was not the only Coronation Street star to receive an award at the Manchester ceremony, the soap swept the board winning eight out of 16 awards.Alan's co-star Michelle Keegan celebrated winning the Awards' title of 'Sexiest Female', for the fifth year in a row. Michelle, who stepped out with her boyfriend former TOWIE star Mark Wright, chose a dazzling cream and silver strapless gown by Australian designer Rachel Gilbert for the occasion.

"I can't believe it," said a thrilled Michelle, who recently announced she is leaving her role as Tina McIntyre in the soap. "This is ridiculous. I'm going to get this out in 50 years and be the coolest gran ever!"Michelle and Mark joined some of the small screen's best-loved stars on the red carpet, including Emmerdale star and HELLO! Online blogger, Natalie Anderson."Good morning!!!!" tweeted Natalie, who wore a glamorous white gown accessorised with a glittering clutch bag and statement earrings. "Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for all things @emmerdale for the #britishsoapawards."

Natalie was in good spirits as Emmerdale scooped the night's award for 'Best Episode', for its' 40th anniversary live broadcast.Coronation Street was named 'Best Soap' and 'Best Storyline' amongst a host of other accolades, although the night was a disappointment for Eastenders as actor Adam Woodyatt, who has played Ian Beale in the show since it began, was the only cast member to win an award.
