X Factor hopeful Abi Alton rushed to hospital after falling down stairs

contestant Abi Alton had to be taken to hospital on Sunday evening after slipping down a flight of stairs. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter is understood to have fallen while waiting to hear the results of the votes, and was later seen being stretchered out of the studios.Thankfully, Abi is on the mend. She has since tweeted fans to tell them she is now out of hospital and that there is "no serious damage".

"Thanks for all your lovely message, I'm sure will be right as rain in no time," she wrote.In another tweet, she explained what happened. "I fell down some stairs, landed on the edge of one on my back – thankful it's not worse + confident I'll continue performing x."
