Natalie Gumede, Nick Frost set to star in Doctor Who Christmas special

Coronation Street star Natalie Gumede is set to guest star in this year's  Doctor Who Christmas special. The actress, who also danced on BBC's Strictly Come Dancingwill star alongside Peter Capaldi, who recently took over Doctor duties from Matt Smith, and Jenna Coleman. Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost will also take on a role in the special, as well as Nathan McMullen, as Misfits fame, Michael Troughton - son of Doctor Who star Patrick Troughton - and Glue actress Faye Marsay.

"I'm so thrilled to have been asked to guest in the Doctor Who Christmas special, I'm such a fan of the show", said Nick.He added: "The read-through was very difficult for me; I wanted to keep stuffing my fingers into my ears and scream 'No spoilers!' - every day on set I've had to silence my internal fan boy squeals!"Show creator Steven Moffat revealed: "Frost at Christmas - it just makes sense! I worked with Nick on the Tintin movie many years ago and it's a real pleasure to lure him back to television for a ride on the TARDIS."

Speaking exclusively to HELLO! about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing, Natalie said: "I'm so happy to be in the sequined vacuum that is Strictly Come Dancing. It's a bubble that is magical and glorious and I am absolutely loving it. "The actress had a traumatic time on the show as mid-season she fainted during rehearsals and ended up missing a show. "Thrilled to say I've been declared fit to dance this Saturday," the 29-year-old eventually revealed to her follower.

"Bring on Blackpool! I have rested well and I'm feeling fantastic."
