Russell Crowe has admitted that he loves watching Gogglebox. Proving that even Oscar-winning Hollywood stars are not immune to the charms of the reality TV show, Russell tweeted that he has been enjoying the Australian version of the show. "The joys of Gogglebox," he wrote. "My first time. What a hoot."

Gogglebox hit Australian screens at the beginning of February and has already proved popular with viewers, regularly coming in the top 20 most-watched shows on the night it is aired. As with the British version, Gogglebox sees ordinary families at home watching television programmes from the past week and films their reactions on a hidden webcam. The observational documentary premiered in the United Kingdom in March 2013 and has now been running for five series.

Celebrities including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Miranda Hart, Kathy Burke and Paul O'Grady came together to film a special version of the programme in October 2014 to help raise money for Channel 4 charity telethon Stand Up To Cancer. The regular stars of the show have also become well known to Gogglebox viewers, and fans of London-based favourites Sandy Channer and Sandra Martin were excited to hear that Sandra got engaged to her boyfriend Derek on New Year's Eve. Speaking to the Sun, 53-year-old Sandra revealed that she hopes to tie the knot in Las Vegas.

"Derek is so shy I'll have to help him down the aisle." she said. "I would like a big white dress and big white wedding, but Derek wouldn't want crowds, so we'd love to go to Las Vegas, just the two of us, and have Elvis marry us. It could just be us having a laugh." Sandy, who has been Sandra's best friend for over 40 years, will have a starring role during her co-star's big day. "I'm maid of honour and I've got my hat already," she said. "The hen will be in London and it's going to be off the hook. I'm going to dress her up in a veil and an 'L' sign and I'm going to handcuff her to a blow-up doll of Simon Cowell."
