Fans of Celine Dion are going to be seeing a lot more of her starting next month! The singer just announced she'll be joining The Voice US as an advisor to Gwen Stefani's team.
“Very excited to join @gwenstefani on @NBCTheVoice as #TeamGwen’s advisor for Battles! #TheVoice – Celine,” she captioned a tweet that featured a photo of the duo posing together. Gwen and Celine also shared the news on the Today show on Friday morning. "Everybody’s going to be so mad -- the other coaches - that I got you,” the No Doubt artist said in the interview. “So excited.” She went on to praise the Canadian icon whose career has spanned several decades and has been recognized with several awards.
"I am blown away by [Celine’s] unbelievable story. Having this unbelievable gift to be able to speak through music to the whole world," the 47-year-old noted. In response, the My Heart Will Go On singer spoke of her respect for the Rich Girl performer. "I know Gwen very well. I know her career. I know how beautiful she is all the time,” Celine said. This will be Gwen's third season hosting the hit reality series. She took last season off to promote her new album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like. Meanwhile, the 48-year-old Quebec native has been busy headlining her show in Las Vegas and putting the finishing touches on her next album. She also recently announced she'll sing a song on the upcoming Beauty and Beast soundtrack, and that she's embarking on an European tour.
Celine will also be embarking on a new tour in 2017
If that weren't enough, the busy mum-of-three will take part in a Bee Gees tribute concert, "Stayin' Alive: A Grammy Salute to the Music of the Bee Gees," in February. Other performers who will appear in the CBS special include John Legend and Demi Lovato. As for The Voice, the 12th season of the US show is set to premiere on February 27. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys will all be back as coaches.
