Disney is one of the world's largest entertainment corporations, especially since adding the worlds of Marvel and Star Wars to its catalogue.
But one of the things it is most famous for is its animated Disney Princess movies. The Princesses have captivated generations of girls ever since Snow White first met the Seven Dwarfs, and since then, numerous others have been added.
It turns out there's a surprisingly strict criteria for being a Disney Princess, including the fact that a character is no longer considered one if they ascend to the throne, meaning that fan favourites Elsa and Anna don't actually receive that classification anymore.
However, despite being some of the most iconic women to grace the screen, could you recognise their voice actress if they passed you in the street? Scroll down to meet the women who brought these characters to life…

Adriana Caselotti – Snow White
The first-ever Disney Princess was Snow White, who appeared in the corporation's first-ever animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was released in 1937. In the film, Snow White was considered the 'Fairest One of All', attracting the ire of the Evil Queen.
She attempts to get a huntsman to kill her, but after he is unable to do so, the Evil Queen disguises herself as an old hag and has Snow White bite into a poisoned apple, placing her into a sleep that only true love's kiss can wake her from. Thankfully, a Prince is able to wake the sleeping beauty and the pair live happily ever after.
Adriana was born in 1916 as the daughter of operatic singers Guido and Maria. She made her film debut in 1935 as a Dancing Doll in Naughty Marietta. However, global fame didn't follow the star, who mostly had bit parts for the rest of her career, although this did include the uncredited role of Juliet in The Wizard of Oz.
Her voice appeared in other Disney projects, including Donald's Ostrich and Donald's Off Day, and in 1994, she was awarded a Disney Legend for contributing to the legacy of the corporation.
The actress married four times, and she died from cancer at the age of 80 on 19 January 1997.

Ilene Woods – Cinderella
Perhaps one of the most recognisable Princesses is Cinderella. After her loving father dies, Cinderella is forced into a life of servitude for her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. When she is forcibly left behind ahead of a royal ball, her Fairy Godmother comes to the rescue. Although she meets and falls for Prince Charming, she flees before midnight, leaving behind only a glass slipper. When her foot fits perfectly, the Prince takes her hand and, as you might expect, they live happily ever after.
Cinderella was brought to life by actress and singer Ilene Woods, who was born on 5 May 1929. Ahead of the film, two of Ilene's friends had her sing tracks that would be used, and Walt Disney was so impressed, he offered her the role of the character.
Like Adriana, Ilene didn't follow her breakout role with any major parts, although she appeared in the likes of The Godfather and Mommie Dearest. She became a Disney Legend in 2003, despite having filed a lawsuit for royalties claims.
Ilene was married twice, including to jazz musician Ed Shaughnessy, and the actress was a mother to three children. Later in her life, she sadly developed Alzheimer's disease, and she eventually forgot that she had even played the beautiful character. She died from complications of the illness at the age of 81 on 1 July 2010.

Mary Costa – Princess Aurora
Mary played Princess Aurora in the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. After Aurora's parents, King Stefan and Queen Leah, fail to invite Maleficent to a party marking Aurora's birth, the evil fairy curses the baby girl, saying she will die after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel at the age of 16. Three good fairies are able to change the curse to fall into an everlasting sleep, but they fail to prevent Aurora from pricking her finger. She is eventually woken by Prince Phillip, who saves the kingdom by slaying Maleficent after she transforms into a dragon.
Mary was told just hours after auditioning for the role that she had secured it. Although she had a starring role in The Great Waltz, Mary's career also remained away from the spotlight, and she made her final on-screen appearance in 2014's Like Sunday, Like Rain.
Mary, now aged 96, became a Disney Legend in 1999. In 1953, she married the animator Frank Tashlin, who worked on Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies; however, the couple divorced in 1966.
