Nicola Walker fans, rejoice! The Unforgotten star's hit Disney+ comedy-drama, Alice and Steve, is returning with a second outing.
Nicola stars alongside Jemaine Clement in the series, which follows the titular longtime pals whose 30-year friendship turns into an all-out feud when Steve starts dating Alice's 26-year-old daughter.
Teasing the second run, the creator and writer Sophie Goodhart said, "No one will be prepared for what happens next."
Intrigued? So are we! Keep reading to find out all we know about season two so far.
What to expect from Alice and Steve season two
In season one, Alice was devastated when her best friend Steve started dating her 26-year-old daughter Izzy, fearing she would lose both her closest pal and her daughter in one fell swoop.
Alice tried everything she could to end the relationship, but unfortunately for her, Steve was prepared for the attack. What followed was an all-out feud that ended with a huge cliffhanger, leaving Alice and Steve's fate hanging in the balance.
Plot details for season two have been kept firmly under wraps so far. However, Lee Mason, VP, Scripted, Disney+ EMEA, said that viewers can expect more "laughs, betrayal, and bad decisions."
Who stars in Alice and Steve season 2?
While casting details have yet to be confirmed, we'd expect Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement to reprise their roles as Alice and Steve, alongside Joel Fry (Cruella) as Alice's husband Daniel and Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattooist of Auschwitz) as Izzy.
On why she decided to say yes to the role, Nicola told HELLO! earlier this year: "I love all of the women I've played. Then when Alice came through, I thought, well, I haven't really played someone like her. That was the main draw. And the writing is so incredibly good. It was a bit of a no-brainer actually."
What have critics and viewers said about Alice and Steve?
While viewers hailed the show as "phenomenal" and a "brilliant" dark comedy, it received a mixed response from critics.
The Guardian described the "icky comedy" as "dated and wrong" in its two-star review, while The Telegraph also handed out two stars, stating that "the heart of the show is just too icky to ignore".
Meanwhile, RadioTimes.com hailed the show as "poignant and funny" in its four-star review and HELLO! praised Nicola's "brilliant" performance in the "binge-worthy" series.
Season one of Alice and Steve is available to stream on Disney+. A release date for season two has yet to be announced.
