Netflix has finally unveiled the trailer for Greta Gerwig's anticipated Narnia film, The Magician's Nephew, starring Emma Mackey as Jadis, the future White Witch – and the Barbie star looks almost unrecognisable.

The upcoming film, which arrives in cinemas on 12 February before landing on Netflix on 2 April, is an adaptation of C. S. Lewis' beloved 1955 novel and tells Narnia's origin story, which leads to the events of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

The trailer introduces the two heroes at the heart of the story, young Digory (David McKenna) and neighbour Polly (Beatrice Campbell), who are the first to discover the Wood between the Worlds, aka Narnia. It opens with Digory's uncle, magician Andrew (Daniel Craig), telling the children, "sometimes one story is the beginning to all the others," before handing them a magical ring which transports them to different worlds.

The clip also unveils Emma's Jadis, who appears in a striking all-white ensemble and silver crown. The character was previously played by Tilda Swinton in the blockbuster trilogy, The Chronicles of Narnia.
