All eyes were on Lewis Hamilton during the GQ Men of the Year awards on Tuesday, and it wasn't just because he took home the trophy for Sportsman of the Year. The Formula One champion turned heads as he arrived for the ceremony rocking a new platinum blonde hairstyle, a stark contrast to his trademark black locks.

Lewis complemented his new 'do with an all-black ensemble, featuring a V-neck shirt and blazer to give fans a glimpse of his world-famous tattoos. When asked about his edgy ensemble, the 30-year-old admitted that he had some help in choosing what to wear.
"I have a stylist who helps me," he told the Daily Record. "I hate shopping, I don't have the patience. I' a racing driver, it's too slow. So I choose the designer that I like – there are obviously a certain number of designers that I'm keen on.
"I have a particular taste in the stuff that I choose, but it's good to have a buffer there."
It was a successful night for the sporting champion, who was beaming as he later took to the stage to pick up his award, presented to him by 12 Years A Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor.
While it was the first time that Lewis made a red carpet appearance rocking his blonde hair, it's not the first time that he's been spotted rocking the dramatic new look. The star first unveiled his new look when he headed to compete in the Italian Grand Prix, where he took first place.
Stepping onto the podium to celebrate his victory, which brings him one step closer to his third world title, Lewis debuted his makeover.
It seems he's been making a few changes to his look – he recently revealed that he has added to his body art with a new lion tattoo on the left-hand side of his chest, along with the words "Powerful Beyond Measure".

Flaunting his bare and chiselled torso on Instagram, Lewis wrote: "The African Lion symbolises mastering your emotions..."
"The African lion roars ferociously and the roar can be heard for miles..." he added. "It is summoning the power of the sun to be unleashed at his will, he proclaims his power as a message and a warning. @bangbangnyc."
Lewis had the etching done in New York by celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang - whose famous clientele include Rihanna, LeBron James, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez.
