Lucy Hale gave her 12.7 million Instagram followers major hair goals last month when she revealed she had dyed her brunette tresses blonde – and now the Pretty Little Liars star has taken her look one step further. The 26-year-old caused a social media frenzy amongst fans when she debuted an even blonder hairstyle on Wednesday.
Lucy Hale has revealed she dyed her hair a platinum blonde style
Lucy's new platinum blonde hued locks were first revealed by celebrity hairstylist Kristin Ess, who also works with Lauren Conrad. Kristin, who has been behind Lucy's recent makeovers, posted a close-up snap of the actress on her own Instagram page.
"Going blonder by the minute with @lucyhale and swapping faces with @kdeenihan on snap," she quipped in the caption.
Lucy herself later gave fans a sneak peek of her new look, while backstage during her latest project Waiting on Roxie – although the star has not yet revealed what her new endeavour actually entails.
Lucy first went blonde in February
"A blonder hue and a mask too #waitingonroxie," she captioned a glamorous snap of herself in a red lace outfit with a black mask, sitting at a beauty table surrounded by opulent jewellery and make-up sets.
While blonde shades mark a drastic makeover for the young star, the look is only temporary, with Kristin revealing that Lucy will have to go back to brunette hues when she starts filming the next series of Pretty Little Liars.
Lucy teased fans with her new look
"What's more fun than going the complete opposite colour?" she told People. "We just wanted to do something fun while she’s not filming. She has a short break. She just finished her new movie, Dude, where she has super-long, dark hair and goes back to [Pretty Little Liars] in a few weeks for which she’ll have to go back to brown with highlights."
Lucy herself confessed to fans that her new 'do was only for a few weeks, when she unveiled the look on social media. "I dye," she quipped in the caption. "Thank you @kristin_ess for temporarily making me the blonde alter ego I've always wanted to be."
