The occasion was clearly a family affair and Amir joined his parents Shah and Falak Khan as they posed with their granddaughter, whose name means 'soft to the touch' in Arabic.

Amir's American love announced that she was pregnant in October 2013, five months after the couple tied the knot in New York.

"Mommy in the making," she posted on Twitter. "Thank you everyone for the well wishes. All your comments/duwas have made my day."

Amir was also quick to show his excitement, tweeting, "Faryal & I are delighted to announce we're having a baby - can't wait! Thanks to our friends and family for all the support."

"It's still early days but we're both very excited and can't wait to be parents," added the former two-time world champion, speaking to The Sun on Sunday.
