Christina Aguilera celebrates daughter Summer Rain's first birthday with sweet photo

Christina Aguilera shared an adorable photo of her daughter Summer Rain to mark her first birthday on Monday. The mum-of-two, who welcomed her baby girl with fiancé Matt Rutler in 2014, posted a snap of the youngster clutching a balloon on Instagram.

"Happy 1st birthday! My Sweet, Summer Rain," Christina captioned the image, which shows Summer Rain wearing a cute apple print dress and gazing up at the camera. The photo gave fans a rare glimpse at the youngster's face, and showed that little Summer Rain has inherited her mum's blonde hair and blue eyes.

Christina wished her daughter Summer Rain a happy birthday

The sweet post comes less than four weeks after Christina shared a family video of herself and her fiancé enjoying a trip to the zoo with their baby girl and Christina's seven-year-old son Max Bratman.

"Babe- you make the best home vids of us & the kids… Latest family outing w/ @m_rutler," Christina wrote, seemingly impressed with Matt's editing skills.

Christina is smitten with her daughter and told Extra that she felt "very blessed" to have her in an interview with Extra in January.

Christina welcomed the baby girl with her fiance Matt Rutler

"I have a chill baby, she's just so calm and so easy to make laugh and smile, she's just a breeze, thank God," she said. "She's just so beautiful, these big blue eyes, she's just so gorg… very happy and feel very blessed having Summer Rain in my life."

She later explained the meaning behind her daughter's name in February, explaining that despite initially thinking of giving her a traditional name, she changed her mind once her little girl was born.

"Summer is a time of spreading warmth and light," she told People. "While rain washes away [it] replenishes and brings new life to allow growth and new beginnings."
