Doctor Foster actress Suranne Jones is expecting her first baby with husband Laurence Akers. The 37-year-old revealed the news as she arrived on the red carpet for the National Television Awards, showing off her blossoming baby bump.
Suranne proudly posed with her hands cradling her tummy as she confirmed the exciting news to reporters. The TV star looked radiant as she smiled for photographs outside London's O2, her bump accentuated by a figure-hugging black one-shouldered dress, which she accessorised with a pair of eye-catching emerald earrings.

She was accompanied to the event by her husband Laurence, the editor of Nikon Pro magazine. The sweet couple tied the knot in London in private after a whirlwind six month romance, and Suranne shared their excitement at welcoming their first child.
"We have been married nearly a year and a half now and what a wonderful way to kind of move our marriage on," she told the Mirror. "We're dying to celebrate the new arrival."
Suranne's pregnancy wasn't the only cause for celebration; she won the award for Best Drama Performance for Doctor Foster, and the BBC series was also named Best New Drama. Taking to the stage with her co-stars, including Bertie Carvel who played her husband Simon, Suranne told the audience: "This is amazing. We start filming Doctor Foster series 2 in September so you can look forward to that."

The first series of the show told the story of Doctor Gemma Foster as she discovers that her husband Simon is cheating on her with a younger woman. It was recently commissioned for a second series, and Suranne has confirmed that most of the original cast are coming back.
"I can't say much, only that most of the original cast are returning. It's not going to be a whole new ball game, it's a continuation of Gemma and Simon's story, but it's a different stage in their life," she told the TV Times.
"It was so successful, I just wondered what the hook would be to keep people coming back to this relationship. Then I went out for dinner with (writer) Mike and the team and they told me what they had planned. I thought it sounded great, and actually like something we haven't explored in a couple before."
