Alex Jones is gearing up to introduce her newborn son Ted to her friends at The One Show. The TV presenter, who is currently on maternity leave, told her friend and make-up artist Jo Hamilton that she planned to bring in her son to the BBC studios. Jo left a comment on Alex's Instagram page, writing: "Can't wait to meet your little one ❤️ hope you guys are well xxx." The new mum replied: "Will bring him in soon to see everybody. Miss you girls."

The comment was left on Alex's photo of herself relaxing in a bath, taking a much-deserved break from mummy duties over the weekend. The Welsh star revealed that her baby boy Ted, who she welcomed in January with husband Charlie Thomson, was being looked after by Granny. "The joys of having Granny stay. #timeout #feedingbreak #sundaybaths," she captioned the shot.

The couple, who married in a wedding exclusively covered by HELLO! magazine in 2015, looked to be enjoying a visit from Charlie's mum. Alex earlier shared another Instagram photo, this time showing Charlie chatting to his mother while pushing Ted along in his buggy. "Heading home along the Thames with husband, mother in law and little Ted after a lovely day at the #affordableartfair," Alex told followers.

Alex recently revealed her son's name – Edward Alun Burrell Thomson – by taking a photo of his birth certificate. It came more than a month after the presenter gave birth, and Alex had previously admitted that she and Charlie were struggling with a baby name. Speaking on The One Show via phone, just four days after giving birth, she said: "We're a bit behind on the whole name thing because we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl. We thought, 'When we see him we'll know what he looks like', but actually it's really hard."
