The secret to Victoria's Secret models' glowing skin

It's no secret that the Victoria's Secret models go through weeks of preparations in the lead up to the annual fashion show. And it's not just their fitness regimes that they take to the next level, but their beauty routine, too.

In order to get flawless, glowing skin on the runway many of the models have found a beauty treatment truly befitting an angel – a 24-carat gold face mask.

Sara Sampaio used a gold sheet mask the night before the Victoria's Secret show

The likes of Elsa Hosk, Sara Sampaio and Victoria's Secret newbie Irina Shayk have all been relying on gold leaf sheet masks from skin wellbeing expert Mimi Luzon in the lead up to the show, and have shown off the luxurious treatment on social media.

Their beauty routine does come at a price; a pack of three masks costs over £175, so it's not one the majority of us can afford to try for ourselves.

Irina Shayk is also a fan of the luxurious face masks

Nonetheless it's easy to see why Alessandra Ambrosio and her colleagues are such fans of the mask; when applied to the skin pure gold is said to give extra radiance, as well as having properties that can reduce wrinkles, treat redness and fine lines while giving the skin a more even tone.

And while gold may be an indulgent addition to your skincare regime, there are some slightly more affordable products on the market. Peter Thomas Roth 24k gold mask (£54) promises to lift and firm as well as adding an"opulent glow", while Orogold has a range of 24k face and body products from £25.
