The bag is predicted to sell out in 24 hours

The bag was first revealed on the New York runway, touted by supermodel Bella Hadid, and the first drop comes in two styles, a leather version which is more ‘everyday’ and a silk version aimed at more formal or dressed up occassions. Due to high demand for the limited edition bags, Tiffany and Fendi have implemented an online queuing system if you want to get your hands on it explaining, “Shop the limited-edition Tiffany Baguette—but only for 24 hours while quantities remain available.” Influencers from Elsa Hosk to Camille Charriere have been going wild for the new bag on Instagram, lending it instant cult status.

Bella Hadid was the first to wear the bag on the Fendi runway

The baguette bag was designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi in 1997 reached cult status in fashion circles after being touted by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The City. Now the protagonist of an astonishing range of colours, the bag is globally revered and one of the most recognisable handbag styles of all time and ruled the fashion agenda in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its clever design and ergonomic shape meant that the baguette was similar to a shoulder bag but small enough to be used as an evening bag as well as an everyday go-to.

“It's not a bag, it's a baguette” will forever be one of our favourite quotes from Sex and The City – along with pretty much everything said by Kim Cattrall in her tenure as the inimitable Samatha Jones. Eagle eyed fans of the show fondly remember Carrie Bradshaw's incredible Fendi purple sequin baguette bag. The accessory made such a statement that  the brand nostalgically brought the colourway back in February 2019.
