Julia Fox is officially the queen of upcycling, thanks to her latest street style moment. The 33-year-old is known for her unique, often avant-garde approach towards dressing, having wowed the New York fashion scene over the past decade with her non-confirmative 'fits.

But if there's one fabric that she appears to favour head and shoulders above the rest, it has to be denim. Noughties Britney and Justin would very much approve.

In October, Julia and her long-time stylist Briana Andalore bamboozled us with the most unconventional micro wrap top-meets-bikini piece made from brown reworked jeans and we were honestly blown away.

The super strong diagonal twill weave required to create denim is extremely durable, hence why it was originally worn as workwear by manual labourers. Putting in a different kind of hard graft, Julia certainly worked it on Tuesday, treating the sidewalk as her catwalk.

Julia looked incredible in another unconventional upcycled denim outfit

Coming through with yet another killer upcycled denim moment, the Uncut Gems star headed to a pre-fashion week event in New York wearing an outfit which enabled some major side-boob action. The quirky piece was constructed from jean waistbands, patchworked together into a frayed asymmetric one-shoulder mini dress with no side panels.

Taking the double denim trend to new extremes, the Italian-born model extended the nostalgic fabric theme into her accessory choices. She topped off her look with Medea's box-shaped handbag and wore sock-style pointed ankle boots with a slender wooden heel.

The model elevated the double denim trend to new heights

Julia wore her hair in a style that has evolved into something of her trademark 'do – slicked back and flowing loose down her back – and opted for a makeup look which practically oozed 1990s nostalgia. Her skinny brows framed her generously smoked grey lids, and she rocked a metallic lip colour with lip liner in a darker, contrasting shade.

Now that we’ve had an apartment tour, we hope a makeup tutorial is next on Julia’s agenda…
