Monaco's royal family have welcomed the arrival of spring with their annual Rose Ball, a glittering event that attracts jet-setters, aristocrats and millionaires from all over Europe and the US.

Year after year, high society comes together to join the Monegasque royal family at the famous Monte Carlo Sporting Club, which is decked with thousands of roses for the special evening. This year saw a smiling Prince Rainier arrive at the huge hall accompanied by all three of his children by the late Princess Grace - Prince Albert, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie.

The Rose Ball has been presided over by Princess Caroline since 1983. Guests are more than happy to pay over 700 euros for the privilege of attending the glamorous event, which raises funds for the Princess Grace Foundation. The organisation cares for the Mediterranean principality's most needy children.

Among the celebrities in attendance were designer Karl Lagerfeld and stunning model Tascha de Vasconselos, who has previously been linked with Prince Albert.

Also present was African musician Khadja Nin, who provided one of the most entertaining moments of the evening when he performed a dance alongside Prince Ernst of Hanover.
