The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were met with cheers, smiles and handshakes aplenty when they stepped out in Nottingham for their first joint appearance since moving back to the UK. The royal couple made their way down the line of people who had gathered to catch a glimpse of them, taking their time to chat and pose for selfies. When HELLO!'s Online Royal Correspondent, Eleanor Dye, directly asked the Duke, "How does it feel to be back?," he gave a one-word reply.
Watch the moment Harry turned to the camera to answer after seemingly missing the initial questions. His demeanour matched his words as the Prince looked relaxed and happy, greeting people alongside his wife. Excited fans gathered outside the city's Community Recording Studio in hopes of seeing the royals in real life, and they weren't disappointed.
Charlotte O'Neill, 39, had the chance to speak to Meghan Markle upon her arrival and she used the chance to tell the royal how "stunning" she was. Meghan graciously said: "Thank you." Charlotte described the atmosphere, explaining people were "happy" and "excited" to see the royals.
The Duchess wore a stunning oversized coat in the colour of the season: burgundy, accessorised with colour-matched sky-high stilettos. Meanwhile, Harry looked as smart as ever, wearing a blue suit.
This particular UK city holds a place in the hearts of both Harry and Meghan as it is where they stepped out just after they announced their engagement in 2017.
Prince Harry's 'eventful' return to UK soil
It is good to know Harry is still in high spirits about his surprise decision to bring his family back to the UK. It was HELLO! who spoke to the royal for his first official interview after moving back. During the Invictus Spirit Awards, just two weeks after he arrived home, Harry said it had been an "eventful" period.
He said: "The last two weeks have been… it’s been eventful. But, you know, we’re getting stuck into the work. Kids are in school. We’re happy. And as I said, it’s great to be back on British soil, and looking forward to Birmingham next year for the Invictus Games that’s coming up."
Prince Harry has been busy since being back, appearing at various events and engagements, and although until now Meghan has kept a low profile, she has been spotted having business lunches in London, as she continues her own personal pursuits with her company, As Ever, alongside her charitable efforts.
