As we head into the winter months, if ever there is a time for guilty pleasures or comfort food, 'tis the season! Queen Camilla may not be constantly ordering a takeaway or devouring as many Terry's Chocolate Oranges as the rest of us at Christmas, but she certainly enjoys a treat from time to time.

It turns out Camilla shares one particular preference with the late Queen Elizabeth II: a love of all things sweet. While on an engagement, King Charles once revealed his wife's ultimate guilty pleasure...

Is Queen Camilla a chocoholic...?

King Charles was on an engagement in Wales in 2018, visiting The Natural Weigh shop in Crickhowell, when shop employees offered Charles some chocolates. He cheekily declined, saying: "It's my darling wife who likes chocolate."

Another royal shared Camilla's chocolate obsession...

Camilla is not the only royal who loves cocoa; former royal chef Darren McGrady, who worked at Buckingham Palace for 11 years, previously revealed that the late Queen Elizabeth II was a huge fan. "She is absolutely a chocoholic," Darren told HELLO!.

"Anything we put on the menu that had chocolate on, she would choose – especially chocolate perfection pie."

Queen Camilla loves chocolate so much that she even included it in her hypothetical "last supper". In an interview with the Mail on Sunday's You Magazine, Queen Camilla revealed what the meal would look like – and it is certainly decadent.

She told the publication: "My last supper would probably involve my own asparagus, with lots of butter. Angela Hartnett's risotto. I love her cooking. Dover sole meunière, with ratte potatoes and fresh broad beans and peas from the garden."

Of course, Camilla did not forget dessert, elaborating in detail on how the meal would conclude: "Some bitter chocolate ice cream. Plus strawberries and raspberries and lots of clotted cream. Along with a really good glass of red claret."

Proving she is just like the rest of us when pairing wine with rich food, she added: "And, seeing it's my last supper, probably two."

Camilla has comfort foods, just like us

Alongside her guilty pleasure, Camilla has a go-to comfort food that is perfect for the colder months. "One of my favourite foods is baked beans on toast. Always Heinz." Like most of us, the royal does not have time for complicated cooking and prefers recipes that are not too "mucked about, fussy or fiddly."

While it is hard to envision Camilla in her local chippy, another of her comfort treats is the smell of the classic British takeaway: "Freshly cooked fish and chips, wrapped in paper. That smell. You cannot beat proper fish and chips."

Garlic is off the menu...

Camilla also once revealed on MasterChef Australia that garlic is strictly off the menu at royal residences. "I hate to say this, but garlic. Garlic is a no-no," she explained. When the host asked if it was because the royals spend so much time chatting to guests, she agreed, saying: "Exactly. You just have to lay off the garlic."

Charles' cheesy food preferences

During her appearance on the show, Camilla even shared some of her husband's culinary tastes: "He loves local cheeses; he's a huge cheese fan. Anything to do with cheese, he'll love. Anything with eggs and a bit of local vegetables of some kind, he'd love that. You'd definitely see a smile."
