Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were very affectionate towards each other on their first joint outing back in the UK – but there was one moment that went unnoticed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Nottingham together earlier this month, and their last stop of the day was Epic Partners, which supports children and families in the area.
The couple sang "Happy Birthday" to Michaela Castillo-Williams, who was turning 30, and helped decorate some cupcakes.
As the song finished, Meghan could be seen enthusiastically clapping and singing.
She appeared not to notice as her husband was distracted and played with her ponytail, running his hand through her hair affectionately.
The couple didn't hold back from PDA throughout their visit, exchanging loving glances throughout all three engagements, while they wrapped their arms around one another during a walkabout outside the Community Recording Studio (CRS).
Later, when Harry completed a six-ball pool game, Meghan clapped and jumped up and down before giving her husband a squeeze on the arm.
Harry's favourite PDA with Meghan
It's not the first time that Harry has been caught playing with Meghan's hair in public – and it seems to be one of his favourite ways to signal his support to his wife.
During a photocall amid their 10-day tour of South Africa in 2019, the Duke was seen smoothing the Duchess's ponytail into place as they posed for a picture with young people from the Mbokodo Club Project.
A strand of hair had fallen in front of her shoulder, with Harry quickly adjusting it back into place.
He repeated the gesture during a visit to Morocco that year, when they toured craft stalls in Rabat.
As Meghan put on a necklace, it became caught in her long hair, with Harry gently lifting her locks to free them from getting caught.
In 2018, when the couple were on their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand as newlyweds, Meghan received a medal after winning a welly-wanging competition.
Again, Harry pulled at her ponytail to make sure it was sitting neatly for any photographs.
Harry and Meghan's trip abroad revealed
HELLO! revealed exclusively on Monday night that the Sussexes have taken their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, abroad amid devastating allegations made against Meghan's father, Thomas Markle Snr.
"She's just really, really upset," a friend tells HELLO!. "She keeps on looking at Lili, and she's in tears, and thinking about all the children, the alleged victims. She has young children herself. It's just devastating."
"She decided a while ago, before this happened, that she was going to take herself away from the media and not look at anything, for her own mental health.
"But obviously, she's been getting sent a lot of messages from friends in the UK and people all over saying how sorry they are, but it's just been an emotional rollercoaster for her. She's in bits."
It comes as the Duchess is set to head to Australia once again after being offered an exciting new role as a judge on Junior MasterChef.
