King Charles has been touring the Caribbean for the past week – and now his wife, Queen Camilla, has joined him abroad.
After visiting the Bahamas and Guyana, the monarch arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on 30 October. On Sunday afternoon, Charles reunited with his wife for a special joint outing in Antigua's capital St John's.
Camilla was beaming as she arrived alongside her husband for a church service at St John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration, looking lovely in a turquoise chiffon Anna Valentine dress that was perfect for the sunny weather. The royal carried a parasol and complemented her floaty sundress with turquoise and diamond earrings from her private collection, as well as a multicoloured beaded bracelet that was made by a local vendor.
Charles looked dapper next to his wife in a tan suit with a colourful patterned tie that was a gift from Barry Humphries' widow. The monarch paired his formal attire with a sentimental pocket square made of the traditional Antiguan and Barbudan Independence Day madras.
Charles and Camilla attended the service alongside Lady Sandra Williams and CHOGM Envoy, Sir Viv Richards.
Camilla and Charles reunite
Camilla joined her husband on day five of his tour in the Caribbean after Charles carried out the first two legs of the nine-day tour alone. The monarch spent three days in the Bahamas and two in Guyana.
Speaking on the latest episode of HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast, Royal Editor Emily Nash explained: "The Queen didn't arrive in the Caribbean until the weekend, and she's going to join him in Antigua and Barbuda. We know she's going to be 77 next year. She doesn't love long-haul travel.
"She, I think, finds being out in the heat all day quite draining, and it's tough for most people who are out working in the early 30 degrees all day long. So, she's going to come later, but she will be at his side for the big events at CHOGM. She's got quite a few engagements of her own as well."
King Charles' end of tour plans
The royal couple will wrap up their time in the Caribbean on 4 November.
Camilla joined her husband ahead of their attendance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting next week. Charles is expected to address the UK's role in the transatlantic slave trade when he speaks to Commonwealth leaders in Antigua and Barbuda next week.
"As we have indicated, the King will not shy away from confronting the most shameful aspects of the past during this visit," a spokesperson for the King said.
"You may therefore expect him to address them in his speech with unflinching honesty, sincere sorrow, and respect for the wider discussions that will be taking place between relevant governments on this issue at CHOGM and beyond.
"He will be speaking at CHOGM in his capacity as Head of the Commonwealth. It would not be appropriate for him to address matters of particular policy relating to the UK Government's position," the spokesperson clarified.
