Harriet Phillips, who married Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on 6 June, has announced her first patronage in an exclusive interview with HELLO!.
The former specialist nurse, who has left the NHS after 24 years working in infant mental health, is now patron of Home-Start Cotswolds, a charity that supports vulnerable families. She said her role involves "attending events, participating in meetings, appearing on its website and social media, and visiting community groups".
But Harriet, 46, made clear she is not stepping away from her profession and has started a new job focused on early childhood development. "I will continue as I am. I'm a professional and will continue working in the area I'm passionate about," she told HELLO!.
Like her husband, who is 20th in line to the throne, Harriet is not a working member of the royal family. Should she take on more royal duties, or is she right to put her career first? Vote in our poll and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
