Marbella named top luxury holiday destination of 2013

Celebrity hotspot Marbella has been named the top holiday destination of 2013, according to a new poll. A study asked the public to vote for their most desired holiday location out of a list of ten celebrity hotspots and Marbella scooped the top spot with more than a third of the vote.Marbella, known for its glamour and extravagance, has rapidly become the holiday destination of choice, no doubt helped along by reality TV stars including Lucy Mecklenburgh, Joey Essex, Sam Faiers, Bobby Cole-Norris and Jessica Wright.  

The TOWIE favourites were recently seen hitting the golden sand beaches, lavish villas and A-list party hotspots of southern Spain in the latest season's episodes of

.Frankie Sandford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Tulisa Contostavlos have all been taking in the glorious sea views of Marbella already this year.

, the clubbing capital of the world, scooped second spot. With breathtaking beaches and stunning scenery to boot, this exotic island attracts international celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Moss and Kylie Minogue.

and wife Samantha were spotted on holiday on the Spanish Island in May.Home to Hollywood, the high end celebrity hangout Los Angeles came third in the ranks when it came to top holiday hang-outs. Some of America's biggest stars can be glimpsed in this beach-side city, such as Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez to name just a few.

, closely followed by cosmopolitan Spanish city Barcelona, popular among the
