Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava enjoyed some sightseeing in London over the weekend. The duo celebrated Mother's Day with a visit to the Tate gallery, and shared several photos from the trip on social media.
One photo showed the lookalike mother and daughter both admiring a piece of work by Jenny Holzer, which Reese captioned: "Spending #mothersdayUK with my girl at @tate London!" The mum-of-three also posted a video of herself and Ava walking through the gallery, featuring her asking her daughter, "Ava, what day is it today?" Ava replied: "UK Mother's Day." Reese added: "Happy Mother's Day to everyone in the UK!"

After she posted the photo, fans were surprised to learn that the Hollywood star was in London, with many commenting that they would love to meet her. "Would've loved to have bumped into them," one commented. "Omg Reese Witherspoon was in the same building as us today!" another wrote.
Reese is in the UK to promote her new film A Wrinkle in Time, which she stars in alongside Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling. But she is set to return to the US in time to start filming season two of Big Little Lies, which will feature Meryl Streep - much to Reese's disbelief.

Speaking during an appearance on The Late Show with Seth Meyers, Reese explained how she found out that the Oscar-winning actress had agreed to join the cast. "Well, she sent an email to Nicole [Kidman] and I. And it said, 'Okay, I read the part and I love it and I'm going to do it,'" Reese recalled.
"And I like dropped the phone, like mic drop, but I phone dropped. And then I called Nicole and I was like, 'Is this real life? Is this really happening?' And then I got off the phone with Nicole and I, like, hugged myself gently for a minute and said, 'This is really happening. You're really working with Meryl Streep.'"
