LeAnn Rimes didn't pass up the opportunity to recreate an iconic movie scene while visiting a Coyote Ugly bar in Nashville recently.
The 9-1-1 Nashville star paid homage to the 2000 film, in which she played herself and performed a racy bartop duet of "Can't Fight the Moonlight" with lead actress Piper Perabo, who played aspiring songwriter Violet, by dancing on top of the bar with several of her 9-1-1 castmates.
LeAnn shared the fun video, which you can watch above, on Instagram and looked just as good performing on the bar as she did in the movie 26 years ago.
She wore flared denim jeans and a tiny crop top that showed off her gym-honed arms and taut stomach as she paraded up and down the bar lip-syncing to the film's iconic theme song.
Referencing one of the movie's unforgettable quotes, LeAnn captioned the video: "Nashville, do we serve water in this bar… somebody call the 113 as your girls had a little fun of their own in between filming #coyoteugly #cantfightthemoonlight #911nashville @911nashville."
She added: "Big thank you @coyoteuglysaloonnash for having us and to the badass ladies for teaching us some moves!"
Her followers loved the reenactment, with one responding: "OMG! I was obsessed with the movie! This is so awesome!! More like this please!"
A second said: "Okay.... this is amazing. I LOVE THIS." A third added: "Absolutely love this movie and so happy to see this years later!!!"
LeAnn was only 17 when she had her cameo in the film and admitted the experience and the racy outfit she wore – tight snakeskin pants and a plunging, backless crop top – "became a kind of introduction to my sexuality."
"[Filming] was super-sweet and supportive, but the outfit and the performance were a big change for me," she told the Guardian in 2023. "I didn't feel comfortable in my own sexuality yet, so I had to do a lot of pretending to play the part of a woman with confidence.
"Until this point in my career, I'd been constantly on the road, doing press and working in the studio. I had teen angst, I was hormonal, and I had done 500 shows in three and a half years, so I was tired.
"I hadn't been to many bars before, let alone danced on top of them," she continued. "The film was multilayered, but it was centered on women selling sex, whereas for most of my career, my identity had been the opposite — it was about everyone around me preserving me as this wholesome child.
"Coyote Ugly was my step out of that innocence. On the day of the shoot, the costume department handed me these chicken fillets to wear, and I said, 'What am I supposed to do with these?'
"They had to explain, 'You're meant to put them in your shirt, they make your boobs bigger.' It was a bit of a shock at first, but it became an introduction to a different side of myself that I wanted to explore."
