Joanna Gaines' latest photo has left fans doing a double, maybe triple take — and not for her home renovation skills.
Ahead of Mother's Day on Sunday, the Magnolia founder shared a sweet photo featuring both her parents and both of her sisters.
The former HGTV star is originally from Wichita, Kansas, and one of three daughters of Jerry and his wife Nan Stevens, who are also parents to Mary Kay McCall and Teresa Criswell.
Joanna, 48, took to Instagram this weekend and shared a sweet photo, seemingly taken in one of her businesses in Texas, in which her dad and two sisters are all gathered around the matriarch of the family, herself holding a bouquet of flowers.
"We love celebrating our mama," Joanna wrote, adding: "Here's to a beautiful Mother's Day weekend!"
Fans were then quick to take to the comments section under the post and gush over it, with one writing: "Love you guys so much! Sweetest family!" as others followed suit with: "Beautiful! Happy Mama's day!!!!" and: "Happy Mother's Day to your beautiful mother & to you Joanna & to your sisters as well," as well as: "Happy Mother's Day Joanna and family, you look so much like your beautiful mother."
Joanna later also shared a video of her mother arranging a bouquet of flowers, and noted in her caption: "I learned from the very best. Happy Mother's Day, mom!"
Her parents Nan and Jerry met while the latter was stationed in South Korea in 1969, and eventually made their way to Waco, Texas.
After Joanna opened up in her book The Stories We Tell: Every Piece of Your Story Matters about her childhood, and growing up in the midwest as the daughter of an immigrant, she also reflected on times when her family received hate and harassment over their Asian heritage.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in 2023, she noted: "Growing up as half-Asian, half-Caucasian, I get what that feels like to not be accepted and to not be loved. That's the last thing I want anyone to ever feel."
"My mom is so tough, but with one look or comment, I would just see her shut down," she recalled, adding: "That's why she didn't know how to help me when I would come home and say, 'So-and-so called me this.' It was also happening to her."
Joanna herself has been married to husband Chip Gaines since 2003, and are parents to five children, Drake, 21, who is in his second year of college, daughter Ella Rose, 19, who is also off in college, Duke, 17, Emmie Kay, 16, and son Crew, seven.
