Catherine Deneuve once again proved why she remains one of cinema’s most enduring style icons as she made a glamorous appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday evening.

The legendary French actress, 82, attended the Gentle Monster screening at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, looking elegant and poised as she walked the famous red carpet.

For the occasion, Catherine embraced understated sophistication in a flowing black ensemble featuring dramatic sculptural detailing across the bodice and sleeves. 

The timeless look was paired with emerald and diamond drop earrings, soft rosy makeup and her signature blonde hair styled in a voluminous swept-back updo.

The evening prior, the screen icon was photographed arm-in-arm with fellow French actor Vincent Cassel, who looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo and dark sunglasses. The pair appeared relaxed and cheerful as they made their way along the carpet surrounded by photographers and fellow guests.

Catherine was also joined by stars including Léa Seydoux and Cécile de France during the glamorous event, further cementing the evening as a celebration of French cinema royalty.

The actress has long been synonymous with the Cannes Film Festival and remains one of the most respected figures in European film. Over a career spanning more than six decades, 

Catherine has appeared in some of the most influential films in cinema history, including The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Belle de Jour, Repulsion and Indochine, the latter earning her an Academy Award nomination.

Known for her effortless beauty and enigmatic screen presence, Catherine became an international symbol of French elegance during the 1960s and 1970s, working with acclaimed directors including Luis Buñuel, Roman Polanski and François Truffaut.

Catherine was previously married to photographer David Bailey during the height of her fame in the 1960s and later had high-profile relationships with filmmaker Roger Vadim and actor Marcello Mastroianni. She is also the mother of actress Chiara Mastroianni, who followed in her footsteps into the world of film.
