The Pitt actor Moshe Kasher revealed a devastating tonsil cancer diagnosis with his fans on Sunday as he described the extensive treatment he was undergoing to combat the illness.

The 46-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of himself post-surgery, sitting in the hospital with a tube protruding from his neck. "Three months ago, while in Savannah producing the new Judd Apatow/Glen Powell movie, The Comeback King…I found a bump on my tonsil," he began in the carousel post.

"It was cancer. Which did not rule so hard," he continued, before revealing that two days prior, he had undergone surgery to remove the lump.

"This has been the most terrifying and consciousness-consuming experience of my life," he continued. "My life has been terror, meditation, tears, and medical planning."

"I truly cannot believe I managed to work an entire movie while dealing with this. But Judd could not have been a more kind, supportive and nurturing friend all while on the verge of a five-hour energy overdose from his terrifying habit," Moshe quipped.

The comedian went on to thank the staff at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles for their continued care, and shared that he was still waiting to find out if he needed radiation therapy. "I'm in pain, and I'm in the middle of a very difficult process. It's gonna be a long summer. But the good news is the cancer I have has an incredibly high cure rate (in the 95% zone)."

Moshe went on to say that he was "so grateful I have a life that's worth living and a kid to raise this Father's Day," referring to the eight-year-old daughter he shares with his wife, Natasha Leggero. "I can't wait to get back to work, but for now – I breathe, I walk, I eat, I survive, I live," he concluded.

Moshe's friend and collaborator, Judd Apatow, took to the comment section to share his support, writing: "You couldn't be a kinder, stronger, funnier person. Heal fast and easy. Also – Five Hour Energy Drinks can really help on those tiring days. I'm also a fan of Patron Silver and Mountain Dew. This post has been sponsored."

Moshe starred in season two of The Pitt as Jacob Samuel, an American Sign Language interpreter. "Thus begins the saga of Jacob the Interpreter on The Pitt on @hbomax, a role already being credited with any future Emmys to come their way. I'm gonna let you guys get acquainted," he joked on social media after the episode aired.

In real life, he is a CODA, or child of deaf adults. "Every CODA – that is child of deaf adults – has essentially the same experience, which is a 15-year non-consensual sign language interpretation internship training program," he said in an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio.
