Happy birthday Patrick McEnroe! The former professional tennis player turned 60 on Wednesday, July 1 and is celebrating in style.

Patrick, who is a lead tennis broadcaster and analyst for ESPN, attended the second day of Wimbledon in the coveted seats inside the Royal Box with his longtime wife, Melissa Errico.

He was spotted in a checked suit and spotted tie while Melissa wore a floral, long sleeved dress and a blue scarf. The couple, who have been married for 28 years, are both household names in their industries.

Outside of their careers, Patrick and Melissa are parents to three gorgeous daughters, Victoria, 20, and twins Juliette and Diana, 18. Keep reading to learn more about Patrick's Broadway star wife and their three girls.

Melissa is from NYC

Melissa was born on March 23, 1970 in Manhattan. While she moved to Long Island for high school, Melissa continued spending time in the city, taking dance lessons and appearing on the children's TV series The Great Space Coaster.

After graduating from high school, she attended Yale University to study art history and philosophy. While there, Melissa landed the role of Cosette in a national tour of Les Misérables, causing her to take a brief break from college before returning to graduate.

Patrick McEnroe and Melissa are childhood sweethearts

While growing up on Long Island, Patrick and Melissa first crossed paths. The tennis player was best friends with Melissa's older brother Mike at the Buckley Day Country School and always had a little crush on the budding Broadway star. It just didn't materialize for two decades.

"We had a moment that we both remember by the water fountain," Patrick shared with US Weekly in September 2025. "We were both walking through school and we had this little moment, this little connection."

"We were in front of the water fountain by the science room," Melissa added. "The school was quiet. We looked at each other and there was this long pause. When we re-met in our 20s, we both remembered the moment by the water fountain."

When the two were in their late 20s, Patrick was taking time away from tennis after having shoulder surgery. He went to see his lifelong friend Mike perform at a club and to search for Melissa.

"[After the show] we went out and had dinner and a drink together at The Corner Bistro," Patrick said. "We had nothing in common. Melissa knew nothing about tennis. I knew nothing about the theater."

He added: "But here we are almost 30 years later and I'm an expert on Stephen Sondheim."

Melissa and Patrick's 1998 wedding

After reconnecting in the mid-1990s, Patrick and Melissa tied the knot on December 19, 1998. The couple married in an intimate ceremony at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in New York.

The two found their match and haven't wavered since. "We're very similar in a lot of ways, the athlete and the performer," Melissa told US Weekly. "We're used to setbacks. We're used to every day being back to zero. You're going to lose a lot. You're going to lose more than you win."

Melissa's Broadway career

Melissa is a Tony-nominated Broadway star. Throughout her 30-year career, she's been in many productions, like My Fair Lady and Anna Karenina. In 2003, the actress earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for Amour.

Melissa was a close collaborator of the late-Stephen Sondheim. In 2018, she released an album of Sondheim covers that was regarded by one critic as "the best all-Sondheim album ever recorded."

In 2025, she starred in her show, The Streisand Effect. "Barbra [Streisand] is an influence, and not that I want to be exactly like her, but she was a pioneer," she explained. "She started in the theater and she made her own thing. I have decided to cast her as an artistic mother of a kind that I need. As good as everything is around me, I'm always looking for an influence and something to push me."

Patrick and Melissa's children

After eight years of marriage, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Victoria Penny, in 2006. Like her dad, Victoria is a competitive tennis player. In 2022, she won the NYSPHSAA girls tennis championship.

Two years after they became parents, Melissa and Patrick welcomed twin daughters, Juliette Beatrice and Diana Katherine. They happened to follow in their mom's footsteps and are heavily involved in music and performance, even performing with her on stage.
