Charlize Theron has never shied away from making a fashion statement, and the Oscar-winning actress did just that as she arrived in Seoul for the latest stop on The Odyssey press tour.

The 50-year-old star turned heads at the film's press conference on Monday in a striking look from Tom Ford's Fall 2026 collection by creative director Haider Ackermann, embracing one of the season's biggest trends with a daring transparent vinyl wrap skirt layered over sheer polka-dot tights and a delicate lace slip.

Charlize paired the statement skirt with an oversized blue-and-white striped shirt, worn partially unbuttoned, alongside pointed black patent heels and dramatic opera-length leather gloves that added a polished finish to the contemporary ensemble.

Sharing behind-the-scenes snaps on Instagram, the actress referenced her mythical character in Christopher Nolan's epic adaptation, writing: "Calypso finally leaves the island… and lands in Seoul."

A fashion-forward press tour

Charlize has embraced bold, character-inspired dressing throughout The Odyssey promotional tour, with longtime stylist Leslie Fremar weaving subtle nods to her role as the sea nymph Calypso into each appearance.

Her recent wardrobe has included a shimmering Louis Vuitton chain dress in Beijing, Tom Ford's micro tap shorts in Paris, and romantic lace creations by Dior and Givenchy by Sarah Burton.

Haider Ackermann described his Tom Ford Fall 2026 collection as "a language… of seduction," exploring the contrast between "hard and soft" and "sharp and cocooning" – themes reflected in Charlize's combination of masculine tailoring, supple leather and transparent fabrics.

Matt Damon reunion

Charlize was joined in Seoul by co-star Matt Damon, who plays Odysseus in Christopher Nolan's ambitious adaptation of Homer's epic poem.

The actress previously made headlines during the London premiere after jokingly admitting she had been "looking at his ass" once Damon shed his elaborate costume during filming, delighting fans with her candid sense of humour.

She also generated buzz ahead of the film's world premiere after posting a series of behind-the-scenes images showing herself wearing nothing but diamond earrings while preparing for the red carpet.

Dressing for confidence

For Charlize, fashion has always been about self-expression rather than following rules.

Speaking to People in 2023, the actress shared her relaxed philosophy on style.

"I feel like there shouldn't be any faux pas," she said. "I really feel like if you just go by how you feel and how much you love it, then it's not a faux pas."

She added: "There are a lot of dresses that I know people didn't like, but I'm like, I looked at myself in the mirror that night, and I was feeling myself."
