Rumer Willis is taking matters into her own hands as much as possible when it comes to her health.
The House Bunny actress is the eldest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, who has been living with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), which damages both the frontal and temporal lobes, for several years.
The Willis family, particularly the Die Hard actor's wife Emma Heming , have become steadfast advocates for those also battling the disease, and now Rumer is detailing how she is getting ahead of her potential Alzheimer's risk.
Rumer took to Instagram on August 24 to reveal her partnership with Function, through which she checked her inherited risk of the disease through an ApoE gene test.
"I miss my dad," she confessed about Bruce, who first disclosed an aphasia diagnosis in 2022. "I miss a different version of who he was."
"There are some days that are just so hard. I try to prioritize being present with where he is at now," she added.

Rumer further shared that upon testing her Alzheimer's risk, she learned she had what is considered an "average" risk. "I think when you have information, it's power," she also told People about undergoing the gene test.
"It's terrifying to get answers sometimes," she said. "Obviously there are genetic things in my family. Not just dementia, I've had some family members who have had breast cancer and family members who have had different things."
