Ava Phillippe, who is the daughter of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, has grown up before our very own eyes, as she turned 27 on September 9.

The couple who starred in Cruel Intentions together were married from 1999 until 2006, and they welcomed both Ava and Deacon, born in 2003, into the world, and they continue to co-parent.

Reese married Jim Toth in 2012, and welcomed son Tennessee the same year. The pair divorced in 2023.

Although Ava studied social welfare at UC Berkeley, she decided to switch lanes and go into the entertainment industry like her parents.

She firstly got into modeling and made her debut for the fashion brand Rodarte in 2018, and she went on to pose for Ivy Park, Pat McGrath, Aerie, and more.

In 2024 she made her acting debut on the show Doctor Odyssey, and then appeared in Ransom Canyon. She will be featured in the upcoming film Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me as well.

Ava is also an artist who expresses herself through the mediums of sculpture, photography, and sketching.

The rising star takes after her mother not only when it comes to acting, but philanthropy as well, being that she's been vocal about the Time's Up and Me Too movements, and about preventing school shootings.

Ava is finding her own footing in Hollywood and has expressed gratitude for her parents supporting her every step of the way.

She shared with Daily Pop: "My parents have always encouraged me to choose the path that's right for me and, you know, guide me along the way to make better choices than I might make. I'm so grateful for that. That is such a privilege to have parents that support you in that way and want you to be who you truly are meant to be."

What has Reese Witherspoon said about motherhood?

Reese previously opened up about the hardships she faced while raising Ava on her own as a young adult.

She revealed on The View: "I lived away from my mother. My mom had a full-time job as a nurse and I had a baby really young—I was 23 years old—and so I was raising her by myself. I don't have any sisters, I don't have any aunts. I was alone in a new city, in Los Angeles, and I literally had no friends. I would cry."

Although the actress faced difficult obstacles, Reese came out on top and learned from the experience, which forever changed her for the better.

She told Elle: "Having kids made me clearer about who I was as a woman. I just wanted to exhibit good qualities for my daughter."
