Pierce Brosnan may be about to switch up his name – and it's all thanks to his MobLand co-star, Helen Mirren. During a joint interview on CBS Mornings on September 18, the pair discussed the season 2 premiere of their hit show Mobland.
Helen, who gushed over her co-star, revealed that she likes to call Pierce by his middle name, Brendan. "I call him, I'm going to call him Brendan because Pierce's middle name is Brendan," she shared. "And he channels his Brendan, in that dark bit that happens between the Pierce and the Brosnan."
Amused by his co-star's statement, Pierce agreed to change his name. "It's just Brendan, Brendana Brosnan. Here you go, rename," he said.

It continues: "Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable 'fixer', must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary, and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy."
Season one followed the London crime family, the Harrigans, who are in a "kill-or-be-killed" battle with their rivals, the Stevensons, that threatens to "topple empires and ruin lives".
© Luke Varley/Paramount+Despite being born in Ireland, Pierce's choice of Irish accent was dubbed "offensive" by viewers on social media at the time of season one last year. However, the actor opened up in an interview with Radio Times over the backlash. "My own accent is very soft, Conrad’s accent is a million miles away from me," he shared.
Pierce explained that the inspiration for the accent came from someone suggested by his dialect coach. "I told him that I needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man and I googled the guy and that was it," he said.
"It was a Kerry accent and so, I just gave it full tilt."
The star was born in Drogheda, County Louth, and later moved to Navan in County Meath, where he lived for more than a decade. His family eventually relocated to Scotland before settling in London.
