New information has emerged following the death of Life Goes On actor Chad Lowe's teen daughter, Fiona, who passed away on Tuesday, September 29.
Fiona was the second of Chad's three daughters, including Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, whom he welcomed with his wife, Kim Painter. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's records, the 13-year-old passed away in the hospital on Tuesday, and the case into her death remains open, with an autopsy scheduled.
A sea of support
Several of Chad's friends and Hollywood peers have offered support to the grieving family, with Bones star David Boreanaz posting a photo of himself and his son, Jaden, smiling alongside Fiona, Nixie, and Kim.
"My Deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul Fiona," he captioned the post. "May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels. David and Chad worked together on the set of Bones, with Chad directing 13 episodes of the hit show and guest starring in one.
Several of Chad's Hollywood peers showed out to support his family, with The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes writing a comment on a previous Instagram post from Chad that read: "Our hearts are broken for you all. Thinking of you and praying for you. Always."
Pretty Little Liars actress Tammin Sursok added: "Sending so much love to your entire family. You are in my heart," while CODA star Marlee Matlin said: "My heart is broken into pieces. Fly high, Fiona Lowe. Love you Chad and Kim."
The family statement
Fiona's family shared a moving statement announcing her passing on Tuesday that read: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona."
"She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance," they continued. "She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."

Chad's father, Chuck Lowe, who is also actor Rob Lowe's father, shared an emotional tribute to his granddaughter on Wednesday alongside a photo of her as a child swimming in a pool. "Rest in peace, sweet Fiona," he wrote in the caption.
Enduring hardship
Chad's family has endured a difficult two years, after their Los Angeles home burned down in the Pacific Palisades fires in January 2025.
The 58-year-old praised the resilience of his three daughters in the wake of the disaster, and shared that they were "nothing short of remarkable".
