A busy new chapter at 84

The television visit comes during another active period for Paul, who released The Boys of Dungeon Lane in May.

On October 1, his official website announced a special edition of the record, arriving digitally on October 7, with a vinyl release scheduled for December 9.

The expanded edition will feature three previously unreleased songs and a new version of "Home To Us", his duet with fellow Beatle Ringo Starr. The original album became Paul's 24th UK number one across his work with the Beatles, Wings and as a solo artist, according to the announcement.

Looking back on his Liverpool childhood

The album explores the years before international fame, drawing on Paul's childhood in Liverpool and his early experiences with John Lennon and George Harrison.

Its title comes from a lyric in "Days We Left Behind", with Dungeon Lane providing a connection to the neighbourhood where he grew up.

"This is very much a memory song for me," Paul explained in a statement on his official website.

Reflecting on his upbringing in Speke, he added: "We didn't have much at all but it didn't matter." His recollections emphasised the people around him and the friendships that shaped those early years.

What Paul has said about keeping active

Away from recording and performing, Paul has previously offered glimpses of the activities he enjoys, including yoga and horse riding.

During a 2019 question-and-answer session on his website, he demonstrated a headstand after being asked whether reports of his ability were true.

"I've often thought about videoing it and singing a song upside down!" he joked in the published conversation. He also discussed his enjoyment of riding his Appaloosa horse, describing solitary rides through the woods as a welcome change from touring. The conversation revealed a quieter side to a musician whose working life has involved decades of travel and performances.
