Amy Jo Johnson celebrated her 56th birthday on October 6 with a series of relaxed outdoor photographs and a heartfelt message to herself.
The Felicity actress looked radiant in a sunlit close-up, posing beneath an apple tree with her brunette hair falling loosely around her face.
Wearing a white top, Amy Jo held a slender branch beside her, with a silver bangle and beaded bracelet visible on her wrist. Ripe red apples and green leaves filled the background.
Another photograph showed the actress sitting on the doorstep of a dark-painted building, resting her chin on one hand as she looked towards the camera.
She paired her white T-shirt with blue jeans and black sandals, keeping her birthday look simple and casual.
Amy Jo's birthday message
Alongside the photographs, Amy Jo shared a reminder to appreciate the people and experiences in her life.
"Happy Birthday to me... make it a good one... remember to be grateful for all the beauty in your life... all the friends you have... all the blessings that surround you... all the gratefuls to be had... and for the love of god, don't forget to have fun. - me," she wrote on Instagram.
The comments quickly filled with birthday wishes. One read: "Miss you! Have the happiest birthday and may all your dreams come true." Another added: "Celebrate well and be celebrated."
Her memorable role in Felicity
For many television viewers, Amy Jo remains familiar as Julie Emrick, the aspiring musician she played opposite Keri Russell in Felicity.
She joined the drama when it launched in 1998, appearing alongside Scott Speedman and Scott Foley. Her musical talents also featured in the series, which included her songs "Clear Blue Day" and "Puddle of Grace".
However, her first major television success came several years earlier, when she played Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger, in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Amy Jo appeared in the series from 1993 to 1995 before building a career that also included the role of Jules Callaghan in the police drama Flashpoint.
A new chapter behind the camera
In more recent years, Amy Jo has increasingly focused on writing and directing. Her credits include The Space Between and Tammy's Always Dying, the latter starring Felicity Huffman and premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival.
She has also directed an episode of Superman & Lois, extending her filmmaking work into television. Her official website currently highlights an upcoming short film, Ruby, for which she has been raising support through personalised Cameo videos.
Music remains part of her creative life, too. Her EP Still Here explores perseverance and resilience, while her work in comics includes Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return, revisiting the franchise that helped launch her career.
Away from work, Amy Jo is based in Toronto and is mother to daughter Francesca, whom she calls Franky. Born in Massachusetts, the actress became a Canadian citizen in 2015 and holds dual American and Canadian citizenship.
