Heidi Klum just declared her ultimate sartorial rule: the bigger, the better. The supermodel graced the Empire State Building on October 29, and her look certainly stole the show.
The 53-year-old stunned in a white floral gown by Kilian Kerner. The garment featured a sculptural silhouette evoking oversized blossoms with ruffled edges. Along with a plunging neckline, a thigh-high slit, and a dramatic train, vibrant yellow and green floral appliqués completed the enchanting look. The look was teamed with pointed-toe white pumps.
Heidi's blonde bombshell locks were styled into voluminous curls while her makeup exuded glam, courtesy of a dark smoky eye and a nude lip.
Recently, the supermodel has been embracing voluminous silhouettes. This week, she stepped out in a tangerine-orange Lever Couture dress that featured a sculptural silhouette adorned with pleated ruffles. The garment boasted a shorter hemline at the front while the back draped into a longer train. Heidi wore the bold outfit to the third anniversary celebration of her Crazy Pizza establishment in New York.
Heidi Klum's confidence and modelling
The German native has never shied away from a daring ensemble, and has always been confident in her body. Heidi helped redefine beauty standards on the runway, standing out as one of the more curvier Victoria's Secret models in the mid-to-late '90s.
"I’ve been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram," she previously told People. "So for me, it’s nothing new. For the past 15 years, other people are now doing what I’ve been doing for 30 years. Instead of being in my little bottoms in a magazine, I’m on Instagram. It’s the same thing."
"People always say, 'You probably got more confident as you've gotten older,' but I have always been confident," she added. "I have no problem walking around in my underwear. I’m not hiding in a corner."
Heidi continued: "I've always been very open with my body. When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I'm European … my kids don't know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it."
