Jennifer Lopez may be dating sexy dancer Cris Judd, but her ex-boyfriend Sean “P Diddy” Combs is saying he still loves her.
“Even in her darkest hour, if she’s in a building and there’s a fire and somebody’s gotta run in and there’s a 99 per cent, 100 per cent chance that they’ll die, I’ll run in there after her,” Combs tells the June issue of Vanity Fair. “She’ll always be someone that I love,” the rap mogul says. “All she’s gotta do is think – she doesn’t even need to pick up the phone – and I’ll be able to feel her.”
Combs compares their relationship to the torrid affair between Frank Sinatra and actress Ava Gardner. “We’d always say to each other that I was Frank and she was Ava, you know what I’m saying? Everything being always up and down,” says Puffy. “Or Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe. Sometimes when two people get together, you feel a certain type of spark that’s like, ‘Yo!’”.
Combs and J Lo announced their split in February after the sultry Selena star was photographed canoodling with Cris. However, she insists that during Puffy’s trial she was always there for support. “I tried to stay positive, even when I didn’t feel positive,” she says. “And I was always a phone call away.”
