Eve Ensler’s phenomenally successful play The Vagina Monologues has taken the West End by storm, and everyone, including Jerry Hall, wants a piece of the pie. The playwright herself currently stars in the show, but is set to depart on June 17 when, as is customary, she’ll be replaced by a trio of rotating divas.

The first group of ladies to enlist includes Emmy-winning star of The SopranosEdie Falco, who last dazzled London audiences in the Tony Award winning transfer Side Man, and This Year’s Love actress Sophie Okonedo. But supermodel Naomi Campbell and The Graduate star Jerry Hall are said to be very keen to join the production, which is scheduled to run for at least four months, though there has been no word on future casting decisions.

The show debuted in 1996 in New York but truly came centre stage on Valentine’s Day 1998 when it became a one-off $1,000-a-ticket charity event with stars from Whoopi Goldberg to Winona Ryder reciting the famed monologues. The show enjoyed a brief run in London previously and is now back on the West End.

The show is truly an international success story, playing from South Africa to Rome with casts as diverse as Ally McBeal’s Calista Flockhart, Tony-winner Audra McDonald, and Grammy-winner Alanis Morissette.
