Model Nell McAndrew is the first to sign up for the ITV’s celebrity version of reality programme Survivor – and for now, at least, it looks like she’s the only one.

The show, reportedly called I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, is set to begin filming on an isle off Queensland in Australia in just over three weeks, yet producers still have seven more slots to fill. The list of British celebs ready to rough it on a deserted island for the purpose of TV entertainment – and to raise money for charity – seems to be shrinking.

Hypnotist Paul McKenna and comedian Ed Byrne passed on their invitation, as has EastEnders actor Marc Bannerman. ‘It’ girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, pop star Darren Day and model Caprice are among the other celebs who have been offered a chance to take part in the programme, in which they’ll be expected to build their own shelters, hunt for food, and defend themselves against wild animals in the island's sweltering heat for two weeks.

So far, however, none have confirmed they’ll accept the challenge.
