Liverpool striker Michael Owen has confirmed that his girlfriend Louise Bonsall is four months pregnant with the couple's first child. And though the 22-year-old England star admits football is fab, he says the real thrill of his life came when his longtime love announced she was expecting.
"I've had a few exciting moments in my career," said Michael, "but nothing compares to how I felt when Louise told me the news." The multi-millionaire athlete says both he and Louise, a former bank clerk, are "both really delighted and excited at the prospect of being parents for the first time."
The young couple, who began dating aged 14, have no immediate plans to marry, but they are embarking on a new life together in a renovated home. Last year, Michael paid £1.6 million for a 12-acre estate in Northop, Flintshire, and soon submitted plans for, among other changes, construction of a playroom.
Meanwhile, however, the popular footballer, who last year splashed out nearly £1 million on a row of five houses for his family members, resides with mum-to-be Louise in Hawarden, North Wales.
