Expectant mother Heather Mills was a blooming picture of health as she hosted the third annual Adopt-A-Minefield benefit in Los Angeles. The former model, who had opted for a pleated white gown which clearly showed off her bump, was accompanied by her husband Paul McCartney to the event in the luxurious Beverly Hilton hotel.

Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas also came along, as they were honoured for their efforts on behalf of the charity. Aside from making private donations, Michael and Catherine have also raised $450,000 to support emergency demining in Afghanistan.

The fundraiser came just after a television appearance in which Heather spoke of her joy at becoming a mother. The 35-year-old, who suffered two ectopic pregnancies, had feared she would never be able to have children.

But both she and Paul burst into tears when Heather found out she was pregnant. "I showed him the test and he just went 'oh'," revealed Heather. "We both started crying - it was just a miracle."
