Pamela ties the knot with her Rock

Understated and demure was never likely to be the order of the day when Pamela Anderson made her vows with Kid Rock at the weekend. And the former Baywatch star certainly lived up to her sizzling reputation, spending most of the day in a bikini as she celebrated on the deck of a luxury yacht in St Tropez.

The blonde bombshell, who has two children, Brandon and Dylan, from her marriage to Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee, wore a white minidress for the ceremony, before changing into a tiny white bikini and sailor's cap. Supermodel Cindy Crawford and Sir Elton John's long-time partner David Furnish were among the friends and loved ones on hand to witness the romantic moment. "She was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen – like a modern day Brigitte Bardot," said Jimmy Choo owner Tamara Mellon. "Kid Rock was a total rock star – he gave a good kiss."

Although the pair have been close for several years, Saturday's ceremony still qualified as a whirlwind romance in its own way. The couple originally started dating in spring 2001, but decided to go their separate ways two years later after a brief engagement. When they ran into each other on the French Riviera a few weeks ago they immediately realised the magic was still there, however, and decided to jump in feet first by tying the knot straight away.

"It was like we'd never been apart," confessed the Detroit singer, whose real name is Robert Richie. "I just love her to death." When his bride was asked how she felt about saying "I do" for a second time, she seemed equally excited. "I'm in love, I'm happy, I see the light," she declared. "Sounds dramatic, but it's true!"
