CHAT SHOW KING LARRY HOSTS STAR-STUDDED BASH

22 NOVEMBER 2006

American talk show host Larry King took time out from his New York studio hot seat this week to hold a fundraising gala in LA for his Cardiac Foundation. And some of his celeb pals, who normally get the interview treatment on his famous show, were happy to follow him to Beverly Hills for the black-tie event.

Larry, who turned 73 last week, made the evening a family affair - bringing along his beautiful 47-year-old wife and their sons Chance and Connor, who seem to have inherited their father's suave sartorial style.

Providing the entertainment on the night were Simon Cowell's operatic boyband Il Divo. The heart-throb quartet of Sebastien, Carlos, Urs and David, who were fresh from supporting legendary diva Barbara Streisand on her US tour, no doubt set female hearts aflutter with their performance which included a track from their new album Siempre.

But it was Desperate Housewives beauty Eva Longoria who received the most plaudits. The gorgeous actress, dazzling in a strapless fuchsia number, was honoured with a heart-shaped award for her help in educating the public about the need to detect cardiac problems early, and in campaigning for resources.
