Victoria Beckham's younger fans will soon be able to share a bedtime story with their idol, as the former Spice Girl has decided to follow in the footsteps of Madonna by penning a children's book. The mum-of-three has revealed she is planning to follow up a new range of women's wear she is designing with a line for youngsters plus a children's book.

The 31-year-old already has some experience in the rag trade as a result of her work with the jeans label Rocawear. Establishing herself as a fashion guru in her own right will mark the beginning of a significant new chapter in her career, however.

"I'm going to become a designer shortly - people love dressing me, so why not profit from it?" explained the England skipper's wife. "Then I am going to do a children's line and a book for them as well."

Victoria made her literary debut back in 2001 when she published her autobiography Learning To Fly. Style-conscious parents will no doubt be interested to see what form her foray into the children's publishing market takes, but the new work will be hard-pushed to match the success of her hubby's tome My Side, which topped bestseller lists all over the world.
